LIQUOR TRADE IN EARLY COLONIAL SYDNEY

The impact of the rum trade.

Using liquor (rum in particular) as a currency in early colonial Sydney was a common practise. This trade would have affected the young colony in several ways, including economically and socially. This website looks at these impacts, and the ways in which history and archaeology could work together to find out more about the effects of the trade.

This page is intended for anyone with an interest in Colonial Sydney.
